Multimedia: LEGO Model

Step-by-step instructions plus a complete brick and parts list to build your very own GOES-R satellite model.

LEGO Model

Step 1

In order to complete this model you will need a variety of parts and bricks made by LEGO®. Here is the complete GOES-R LEGO® Parts - by brick type list and here is where you can buy any additional parts you may need. The parts lists are organized by subsystems/components that you will be building in step 3.

Step 2

As you may know, the real GOES-R satellite is made of many parts, including scientific instruments to perform its mission. To begin your model, refer to the GOES-R LEGO® Parts - by brick type list and begin assembling each component of your model using these parts in the next step.

Step 3

You will assemble about 14 individual pieces using the parts and bricks from your GOES-R LEGO® Parts - by brick type list. Once all your components are assembled, attach them to the main body of the satellite to complete your model. Let’s get started!
